I received an email earlier today from the wife of Evan's best friend in the Army. Every time she writes to me, she tells me what an amazing friend he was to herself and her husband, Tyler (who Evan referred to by his last name, "Daly"). She said there was never a time that they ever needed something that Evan didn't come through, and how much they loved him. We kept hearing stories like that-about how Evan would always offer his car, or money, to anyone in need. About how he loved to give out dollar bills to the Iraqi children. And about how he always made everyone laugh with his off the wall comments.

Someone else recently wrote to me, another soldier in Evan's company. He said "Marshall was more than just a soldier. I was proud to call him my friend. He is missed daily. Not a day goes by that we don't talk about our fallen brothers. It's amazing when you think about how much someone has touched your life."

It provides some comfort to know that Evan is talked about daily over there. I desperately want people to remember him, and as many soldiers have confirmed for me, their fallen brothers are never forgotten. They are remembered every day.
